Cyber Smart Week 2025

Cyber Smart Week is On

Cyber Week is back for 2025, this time it’s driven by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).

The focus is the same as the past few years, two simple things:

  • Use long, strong and unique passwords
  • Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA or MFA – multi-factor authentication)

Pretty fundamental stuff, and if your organisation hasn’t made the move, we need to talk.

Check your exposure

A new tool worth trying yourself, or sharing with your team is How Exposed Am I – Check if your email address and information has been exposed in a breach.

While you’re doing that it might also be worth looking at Have I Been Pwned which combs a different dataset.

One key. Many locks. Many risks.

Weak passwords, or re-using the same passwords for different log-ins remains a constant threat. Stolen information is sold on the dark web, and creds are then tried across multiple platforms. If one key opens many locks, losing those keys is going to cause chaos for your business.

That’s why unique passwords and a good Password Manager simultaneously make you more secure, and reduce your workload if you need to change your password after a breach.

We can work with your team to help make this happen.

Stay informed

Own Your Online also run a series of free webinars this week. Details are below, and of course, if you want to look at your cyber security with people who understand your business, we’re here to help.
